Brisbane Syro Malankara Catholic Community

Historical Timeline

• 1930 - Syro Malankara Catholic Church reunited with the Catholic Church(Reunion Movement)
• 1948 - Servant of God Archbishop Mar Ivanios visited Melbourne Archdiocese.
• 2011 - His Grace Most Rev. Joshua Mar Iganatios visited Brisbane.
• 2011 - His Grace Most Rev. Thomas Mar Anthonios, the Apostolic Visitator for Oceania, visited and created mission community in Brisbane and given the name St. Mary's Syro Malankara Catholic Mission Brisbane. Holy Mass was celebrated by the Bishop at Malabar Community Church in Nundah. The Brisbane Malankara community was started with 5 families on 20 December 2011.
• 2013 - Rev Fr Stephen Kulathumkarott was appointed as the Chaplain for Brisbane Syro Malanakara Catholic Church
• 2017 - Rt Rev Premkumar Corepiscopo was appointed as Chaplain for Brisbane Syro Malanakara Catholic Church
• 2024 - Brisbane Syro Malankara Mission was registered under Australian Government.
