Adelaide community celebrated Most Rev. Fr. Dr. Stephen Kulathumkarott’s Farewell Mass, Felicitation and Reception at St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish.
MCYM organised a pathayathra from the funeral place of the priests at the Archdiocese of Adelaide in Enfield Memorial Cemetery to Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
The members wore kavi dress and chanting padayathra manjari. The event concluded with doopa Prarthana, sharing of testimonies and nercha vilambu.
Adelaide church community members gathered together for Pentecostal preparation to pray for the Holy Spirit to intercede in one of our houses every evening from 7 pm to 8.30 pm for 10 days.
The whole experience was a real blessing for everyone and each day the community prayed for special tasks.
We were delighted and blessed to have Fr. Tom Uzhunnalil for one of our prayer meetings on 3rd June 2019, Fr. Tom shared his tough time while being in the custody of terrorists in Yemen.
Stephen Achan also performed house blessings during these special Pentecostal prayer meetings.
His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Joshua Mar Ignathios visited Adelaide for the 2nd time and was the Palm Sunday Service celebrant.
His Excellency also visited Adelaide Archdiocese and expressed gratitude to Adelaide Archdiocese Administrator Bishop Gregory O’Kelly for continued support extended to Syro-Malankara Catholic Church in Adelaide and Oceania.
Adelaide Syro-Malankara Catholic community organised a 2 day retreat led by Fr. Daniel Poovannathil and Team, which was held at St. Margaret Mary’s Catholic Church, Croydon Park, SA 5008.
This retreat reinforced the Christian values, principles, and scriptural understanding and everyday life to connect on a deeper level with God. A meticulously planned and organised retreat was a standout event for our community.
People from all the congregations actively participated in the retreat, 800+ people attended the retreat each day.
Our MCYM members actively took part in the World Youth Day function organised by the Archdiocese of Adelaide.
Rev. Fr. Stephen Kulathumkarott celebrated his Silver Jubille year with Syro-Malankara Catholic Adelaide community
His Excellency Most Rev. Yoohanon Mar Theodosius visited the Adelaide community and celebrated a Thanksgiving Mass at St. Brigid’s Catholic Church along with co-celebrants Rev. Fr. Leon Czechowich and Rev. Fr. Stephen Kulathumkarott.
His Excellency Most Rev. Yoohanon Mar Theodosius also visited Adelaide Archbishop His Excellency Most Rev. Philip Edward Wilson and expressed thanks for the ongoing support to Syro-Malankara Catholic Church in Adelaide and Oceania.
Syro-Malankara Catholic Adelaide Community celebrated the Golden Jubilee of Fr. Leon priestly ordination. The celebration started with the Holy Mass in Malankara Rite where catholic priests from Latin and Syro-Malabar rites participated.
Rev. Fr. Stephen Kulathumkarott presented a Ponnada to Fr. Leon and the Secretary presented a memento (Valkannadi) followed by dinner at the church community hall.
During the Jubilee Year of Mercy, the Adelaide Archdiocese opened the Holy Door of Mercy at the St. Francis Xavier Cathedral. Syro-Malankara Catholic community in Adelaide organised a pilgrimage to the Holy Door of Mercy.
The pilgrimage started with a procession from the Statue of St. Mary Mackillop on the western side of the Cathedral to the Mercy door. Adelaide Archdiocese Archbishop His Excellency Most Rev. Philip Edward Wilson joined the procession from the Mercy door to the altar. Holy Mass was conducted in Syro-Malankara rites by Rev. Fr. Stephen Kulathumkarott and His Excellency Most Rev. Philip Edward Wilson was a co-celebrant and delivered the homily during the mass.
The Mercy Door pilgrimage intends to experience God’s forgiveness and then extend that mercy and love of Jesus to others by forgiving and being merciful to others.
Syro-Malankara Catholic families had the great opportunity to spend time with His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Joshua Mar Ignathios and rejuvenate our emotional bond.
